Befriender Ministry
Holy Name of Jesus participates in a training program for pastoral care called Befrienders, which is designed to train candidates in a ministry of listening and caring. There is adjunct training in Hospice care that also takes place with this ministry. Befriender ministers help those who are sick, shut-ins, dying or going through transitions in their life. Pastoral visitation with Eucharist as well as communion services at nursing homes are also provided.
