West Suburban Grief Coalition

The West Suburban Grief Coalition is a group of Christian Churches providing support for persons who are grieving from losses such as death of a loved one, suicide, divorce or a significant life change. The coalition meets weekly on Thursdays at 4 p.m. A typical session includes an educational component as well as small group support and sharing. There is no fee.

The Grief Coalition will be meeting at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church through the end of May 2008. Click the name of the the new location in the previous sentence to obtain a map from MapQuest. St. Phillip the Deacon's main number is (763) 475-7124.

Individuals may attend the Grief Coalition's weekly sessions at any time by coming to a meeting or by contacting grief coordinators at (763) 475-7124, (763) 545-1108 or (612) 801-2491. Below is a listing of upcoming speakers.

  • May 8, 2008 - Sondra Weinzierl will talk about The Importance of Remembering
  • May 15, 2008 - Participants will view a video entitled A Child's View of Grief.
  • May 22, 2008 - Participants will discuss Sharing your Memories.
  • May 29, 2008 - Participants and the public will participate in a Memorial Service and Dinner.
