Holy Name of Jesus Job Transition Group

Widen your network of contacts by joining us for networking and a guest speaker each month. The Job Transition Group meets at Holy Name of Jesus in Medina the first Thursday evening of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The group provides a forum for people in job transition to network with others and get support and employment leads. It is open to the public and all are welcome. No pre-registration needed. Our purpose is to support people in job transition with group discussion, job-sharing ideas, through our database of contacts and job listings, and through topics relevant to your efforts. It is an intimate group, with positive energy, helping one another, and providing information from the field. Please join us whether in transition or because you've been through job transitions and want to be of service to others now seeking new positions.

In addition to the monthly meetings, we have an ever-growing (over 400 people!) e-mail database of people willing to help you broaden your network. Just click here to e-mail Bill Corrigan and ask to be added to the distribution list. You will receive job postings from employers, information about other job groups and job search tips. Employers can send their job postings to this same e-mail list. Ask for contact names of your target companies, have your resume reviewed, and ask for leads.

Next meeting:
Thursday, July 1, 2010, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

More Information about Holy Name of Jesus Job Transition Group:

Purpose: To offer support to people who are in job transition or considering a career change.

Our approach is to widen the networking circle for the job seekers by hosting:

  1. Monthly Networking Meetings
  2. Networking via e-mail for resume-passing and job listings
Monthly Meetings: Held the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus in the Emmaus Room. The meeting format begins with a casual "round table" where everyone introduces themselves, their skills and seeks advice from the group. A guest speaker often will present during the second half of the meeting.

Open to the public. Spouses and special friends are encouraged to attend also to lend support.

E-mail Network: An ever-growing email database of employed people as well as job seekers willing to look at your resume or submit a job opening. Members of the e-mail database are encouraged to connect job seekers with leads and advice that may help their search.

Employers are encouraged to e-mail or fax their job posting to Holy Name of Jesus. At each meeting, the postings are passed around for possible matches with job seekers. Click here to email your job posting or fax it to (763) 745-3488.
