Annual Parish Events

Each year you can participate in several parish-wide activities that celebrate community and offer us opportunities to share our gifts.

Fall Festival

Each September, we kick off the ministry and school year with Mass under the tent, a delicious dinner and tons of food vendors, live music and activities for all ages. Fall Festival is a great time to reconnect after the summer and celebrate our community. This year's Fall Fest is Saturday, Sept. 17, with a family movie night on Friday, Sept. 16. Find out about the bands, the activities, the food and more!

Holy Name Against Hunger

In late January/early February, parish families and Holy Name of Jesus School students join together to pack food for families in need in third-world countries through Impact Lives. Over 500 families participated in our 2013 event. Thanks to all those who helped feed families in need!

Legacy Gala (formerly St. Patrick’s Day Party)

The the Legacy Gala in March is a signature element of our community’s support of our sister school, Ascension School in North Minneapolis, as well as our own Holy Name of Jesus School. The party has raised nearly $2 million since it began, and each year it brings parishioners together for a night of fun and fundraising!

Rummage Sale

Our rummage sale is a fun parish-wide event that, each year, offers parishioners an economical place to shop for life’s necessities (and the occasional luxury). The money we raise supports local charities. Plus, we try to distribute all the remaining goods to organizations that can use them. The rummage sale takes place annually at the end of June.

Fire for Discipleship and Sleep Out

2015 is our second annual Fire for Discipleship and Sleep Out.  Held in conjunction with IOCP's Sleep Out campaign, groups and individuals sign up to tend a 24-hour campfire to bring awareness to homelessness, build community and support IOCP's work with homelessness.  Participants can donate to IOCP's Sleep Out campaign and the parish can donate at a second collection; if we raise a pre-determined goal, then key personnel will sleep out the night of the fire.
