Liturgical Ministries
“The word ‘liturgy’ originally meant a ‘public work’ or a ‘service in the name of/on behalf of the people.’ In Christian tradition, it means the participation of the People of God in ‘the work of God.’ (Jn 17:4) Through the liturgy, Christ, our redeemer and high priest, continues the work of our redemption in, with, and through his Church.”
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1069)
There are many opportunities to serve within the liturgies at Holy Name of Jesus, and all are welcome to share their gifts. Serving in a liturgical ministry is a meaningful way to support our worship, our priests, and our parish community. If you feel called to become involved, please contact the individuals listed below or call Cheri Quast at 763-745-3486.

Music Ministry
“How many sacred works have been composed through the centuries by people deeply imbued with the sense of the mystery! The faith of countless believers has been nourished by melodies flowing from the hearts of other believers, either introduced into the liturgy or used as an aid to dignified worship. In song, faith is experienced as vibrant joy, love, and confident expectation of the saving intervention of God”
(Pope John Paul II’s Letter to Artists, n. 12).
There are so many wonderful opportunities to share your faith through music at Holy Name of Jesus. To become involved, please contact our Director of Sacred Music, Kraig Windschitl.
Adult Choir
The adult choir sings at the 10:30 am Sunday morning Mass during the program year. The choir is open to adults, as well as students in grades 9-12, and rehearses from 7-8:30 pm on Wednesdays. Experienced singers and music reading is an asset, not a requirement. Soli Deo Gloria!
Handbell Choir
Ringers are invited to participate in music ministry. Typically, the handbell choir rings one time per month. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6-7:30 pm.
Women’s and Men’s Combined Choirs
(Adults and High School Singers)
We have occasional opportunities for a men’s and women’s choir or small ensemble. This is especially for singers who cannot commit to weekly rehearsals with our regular choir. Music and listening links are distributed ahead of time, and singers are required to attend one or two rehearsals held the week before.
Festival Choirs
If you would like to participate by singing with the Adult Choir for Christmas or Easter only, rehearsals are held on Wednesdays preceding Christmas and Easter. The Christmas Mass is the late Mass on Christmas Eve and the Easter Choir sings for the 8:30 and 10:30 am Masses on Easter Sunday.
Cantor
Assist the assembly with the singing of hymns, songs, and Mass parts and proclaim the Responsorial Psalm. Audition for this ministry is required.
November Men's Choir
Teenage and adult men of Holy Name of Jesus are invited to join our Men’s Choir!
