VIRTUS® - Not just for volunteers!

VIRTUS® - Not just for volunteers!

Wednesday, June 21 at 6:30 -9:30 p.m.

What is Virtus and why should we attend?

Adult volunteers in this Archdiocese who have ongoing contact with children, young people or vulnerable adults are required to attend a “VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children for Adults” session BUT everyone is invited to attend.

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and anyone interested in the protection of children, youth and vulnerable are welcome to attend a session. The VIRTUS session consists of a presentation of printed materials, videos and group discussion. Among other things, VIRTUS attendees will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms that indicate a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or exploited in some way, environmental factors to be aware of in the physical space of the parish or school, how abusers operate and things you can do to help educate children and vulnerable adults about how to respond to inappropriate behavior. A typical session is two and a half hours and better equips adults to protect children, youth and vulnerable adults.

To pre-register for this session, please visit If the session at HNOJ does not work with your schedule, please feel free to choose another session listed on the website.
