Interfaith Outreach Second Collection, Nov. 15-16, 2025

Iocp For Nov

Do you know that one out of 20 households in the western suburbs struggle to meet their basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter? Or that another one out of 25 are at risk?

Yes, poverty is real, right here in the northwest suburbs. So it is time once again to recommit ourselves to caring for the “least” of our brothers and sisters in our community. Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners (IOCP) holds a Sleep Out every November to raise awareness and funds.

Holy Name of Jesus will take up a second collection for Interfaith Outreach on Nov. 15-16, to support their efforts. Please write checks out to Holy Name of Jesus with IOCP in the memo, or give online at the link below.

If you and your family have been blessed, please consider sharing those blessings with the poor and homeless among us. After all, as Jesus says in that passage from Matthew: “...whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Thankfully, with your help, IOCP has been able to respond to the community’s needs:
• The food shelf distributed 900,000 pounds of food and goods to more than 1,000 households.
• The Resale Select thrift store continued to make specific items available to clients free of charge.

IOCP also offers integrated services and programs that equip households for ongoing stability.
• Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) made it possible for 22 participating households to secure or maintain stable housing – a major step toward achieving ongoing stability.
• Our Neighborhood Program is available to 777 households across nine affordable apartment and townhome communities. Nearly half of these households engaged with our onsite staff to focus on resource navigation, community building, and youth engagement opportunities.
• Our Caring for Kids (CfK) program served 84 local children and their families, spending a total of $672,902 on childcare or early childhood education scholarships. We estimate the actual need in our community to be four times that number.

Thank you for your generous support of our neighbors in need!
