Fr. Steve Ulrick has been pastor of Holy Name of Jesus since July 2011. He grew up in Mound, Minnesota, a town he left in 1974 to begin his studies at St. John Vianney Seminary, the University of St. Thomas, and the St. Paul Seminary. He was ordained a priest in 1982 and has served in a variety of parishes.
Fr. Wratkowski (Rat-Cow-Ski) comes to us from the Church of Saint Joseph in West Saint Paul, MN. Originally from Saint Anthony, MN, Fr. Wratkowski went to St. Charles Borromeo parish and school and then Totino-Grace High School. He was ordained in 2017 after formation at Saint John Vianney College Seminary and then the Pontifical North American College in Rome.
Deacon Dennis Hanson has been a member of Holy Name of Jesus since the late 1990s and served as a deacon at HNOJ since 2000. Dennis became a full-time deacon in 2012 when he retired from the business world. His ministries include Deaconate Liturgical Ministry, Baptism Program, Marriage Ministry, and Outreach Ministry. He started the Men’s Bible Study at HNOJ and the Career Transition Group. Deacon Dennis is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Serra Club and the Men's Club.
Director of Mission and Faith Formation
Chris Kostelc grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in Theology and a focus in Pastoral Ministry. In 2009, Chris completed a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry at the SJU School of Theology. Chris also served in youth ministry at HNOJ for over a decade before his current role in adult faith formation.
Elliut is a graduated from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in 2017 with a degree in Pastoral and Youth Ministry. Since then he has been working in youth ministry in the Archdiocese and is excited to be a part of Holy Name of Jesus. He and his wife, Emily, are expecting their firstborn at the end of August. In his free time, Elliut enjoys playing music, watching superhero movies and hosting dinners for friends. Elliut joined the staff of HNOJ in April 2019.
Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator
Annie LaPlante is excited to take on the role of Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator. She has recently graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. In her free time, she likes to read a good book, drink coffee and spend time outside. She is looking forward to being apart of the community at HNOJ and helping in any way she can!”
Bernadette (Bernie) Gauthé (pronounced Go-tay) was born and raised in south Louisiana where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from McNeese State University. She and her husband Chip have five boys and two daughters (in that order). She has over 12 years of ministry experience, nine of which were spent as a parish Youth Minister. Additionally, she served the greater Church as a volunteer, leading college foreign mission trips, retreats, small groups and in a variety of women’s ministries. Bernie and her family moved to Minnesota for Chip’s job three years ago and she thinks Minnesota is the next best thing to the south! She has a love for faith and family, serving others, cooking and baking, sharing what she cooks and bakes with friends and running (but not during a Minnesota winter). She is excited about the opportunity to journey in discipleship with the HNOJ community, and she looks forward to sharing her passion for Christ and His Church with others.
Originally from Chicago, Linda has lived all over the country settling in Minnesota in 1996. She and her husband, Bill, have three grown children and three grandchildren.
Although a born and raised Catholic, she has continued to learn more about her faith, attending the Augustine Institute to obtain her Master’s in Theology. (And she still thinks there is much more for her to know.)
Using what she has been given, she journeys with those who choose to know their faith better and become Catholic (RCIA). She also walks with those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and assists with funeral planning.

Director of Music
Judy Hodgson joined our staff in 2014 as the Director of Music. Judy received a Master’s degree in Music at the University of Notre Dame. Although she grew up in Wisconsin, she’s spent the last 30 years of her life living and working in Bloomington. Judy served as the Director of Liturgy and Music and K-8 music specialist at Nativity of Mary and, most recently, the Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Edward’s. Judy directs the Praise Choir, accompanies the Children’s Choirs, Adult Choir and Handbell Choir. She assists families planning funeral liturgies and couples celebrating matrimony here at Holy Name.
Mary Kay Knapp

Mary Kay Knapp joined our staff in 2016 as the Director of the Adult Choir. She majored in Music/Music Education at Clarke College in Dubuque, IA, and did graduate work in Choral Conducting at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Mary Kay and the Adult Choir welcome high school through adult singers to join us to sing for Mass three weekends a month. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. In addition, singers are invited to join us for special liturgies and events throughout the year.
Director of Handbell Choirs
JoBeth Ranfranz received her Bachelor of Music from the College of Saint Benedict with further study towards an MFA at San Jose State University and the University of St. Thomas. She has been leading our Handbell Ministry since it began in 1999. The Holy Name Handbell Choir meets for rehearsals on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Bell Room from September to May. They play at Liturgies approximately once a month and on special occasions. They also attend outside festivals and events. Ability to read music is highly encouraged.

Director of Summer Choir/Parish Children's Choir
Mandy Inhofer directs the Summer Choir and Parish Children's Choir at Holy Name of Jesus. She spent much of her childhood at HNOJ, receiving the sacraments and attending elementary school here. She then went on to attend Luther College, where she earned degrees in music and English, and the University of Minnesota, earning her masters degree in Vocal Performance.
Minister of Extraordinary Needs
Frank Renshaw works closely with those who have special needs and their families as well as others in need of support in our parish, provides for group prayer opportunities for staff and parishioners, coordinates the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and acts as staff liaison with the Serra Club. Prior to this position, he served as Network Administrator at HNOJ.
Jill Olson came to Holy Name of Jesus from the Archdiocese where she worked in the Office of Parish and Clergy Services and, with Father Steve, conducted parish visits throughout the western part of the Archdiocese. Prior to her work at the Archdiocese, she spent almost twenty years in data marketing. Jill has a Master’s degree in Catholic Studies as well as an MBA in Venture Management. In her spare time, Jill loves exploring Theology and spending time with her husband and two boys.

Michelle Hudlow has worked at HNOJ since July of 2013. Michelle has a degree in Administrative Management and Network Management/Analysis. She worked for 20 years at a local printing company; starting in accounting and leaving as a systems administrator. Before coming to Holy Name of Jesus she worked for six years as a part-time adjunct instructor teaching computer networking and office programs. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs and glamping.

Michele Schatz is the Administrative Support Specialist at Holy Name of Jesus. Her responsibilities include greeting visitors, fielding incoming calls, database management and publication layout. Michele assists in funeral setup for visitations, and also provides hospitality and support for families during their visitation and celebration of the funeral. Prior to being an at-home mom for 12 years, she was an administrative assistant and receptionist for various companies. She looks forward to helping guests and parishioners have the best possible experience at Holy Name of Jesus.
Faith Formation Administrative Assistant/Safe Environment Coordinator
Gabby Schauer is excited to take on the role of Ministry Administrative Associate at HNOJ! She was born and raised in Champlin, MN, and grew up at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where she is still a parishioner. Gabby earned a degree in Human Services from Saint Mary’s University of MN, Winona. Since graduation, she has worked at Totino-Grace High School and is excited to share her experience in administrative work. Outside of work you can find Gabby spending time with her family, playing with her dog, hanging out outside, or planning her wedding that is coming up in September.
Sarah Reid is excited to take on the role of communications coordinator at HNOJ! She is originally from South Dakota where she earned a degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Northern State University. She and her family moved to Plymouth in 2016. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, cooking, drinking coffee and most importantly, spending time with her husband and their seven-year-old daughter.

Daniel Kudwa is excited to take on the role of Accountant and HR specialist at HNOJ! He was born in Flint, MI, and moved to the twin cities to study at St. John Vianney Seminary as a seminarian for the Diocese of Lansing. After discerning out of seminary, Daniel switched gears from Philosophy and Catholic Studies to classes in business and accounting until he finally graduated and finished at the University of St. Thomas in 2021. Daniel is no stranger to parish life, having worked at several parishes back in Michigan during his time in seminary, but he is excited to join the HNOJ team and gain experience in his accounting role. Outside of work you can find Daniel keeping active with sports like swimming or racquetball, or doing weekend trips to explore new destinations utilizing flight benefits from Delta.

Debby returned to the parish print room December 2015; she previously held the position from 2000 thru 2005. Debby and her husband, Joe, have been parishioners at Holy Name of Jesus since 1988. They served in coffee ministry for many years. Joe and her son, Matt, are ushers, and Debby helps greet parishioners and pick up the bulletins after Mass. Debby likes to make handmade cards and spend time with her granddaughters.

Bill Kessler is our Building and Grounds Manager, overseeing building and grounds as well as maintenance at Holy Name of Jesus. He was in this role at HNOJ from 1994-2001 and returned to this role in April 2013.

Matt Floeder is the Building and Grounds Lead at HNOJ during the week. He is a long time member and usher at HNOJ. Matt went to college for graphic design and is still perusing that field. Matt also works at Plymouth Playhouse with both technical and service operations.

Cemetery Sexton and Maintenance
Bob Weinzierl works part-time maintenance at HNOJ during the week. He is a long-time member, as he grew up just a few blocks down the road. Bob currently has a daughter at HNOJ school, and his 2 other children went to HNOJ school as well. Bob is also a realtor, specializing in this area. Bob is a very experienced winemaker, taking a few gold ribbons at the state fair, and an old-school outdoorsman, when time permits.
Jennifer Gilliland works as nursery coordinator at HNOJ, where she has been on our nursery staff since 2007. She works with volunteers who assist in the nursery during Sunday morning Masses, as well as during Adult Faith Formation events and many other occasions at our parish.

Jan Stumpf is our parish secretary during Sunday liturgies. Jan began working at Holy Name in the nursery in 1997 and since then has also worked with Sunday School and the School Age Program. She was married at Holy Name of Jesus and has two adult children and a granddaughter.

Martha Laurent is the principal of Holy Name of Jesus School. Martha has enjoyed an active and diverse career in Catholic education, working at St. Hubert School in Chanhassen for 13 years--first as a teacher, then as a dean and finally as principal. She additionally served as principal at St. Pascal Baylon in St. Paul. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota, plus a master’s degree in educational leadership and an educational specialist degree from St. Thomas University. She feels blessed to be a part of the HNOJ School family.

Carla Durand serves as office manager for Holy Name of Jesus School, where she has worked for six years. Her responsibilities include handling all incoming phone calls and emails regarding our school. She works directly with HNOJ School’s principal and assists the teachers and parents with any questions. She enjoys greeting the kids every morning and making sure that they have a safe and happy day.
