Fr. Steve Ulrick has been pastor of Holy Name of Jesus since July 2011. He grew up in Mound, Minnesota, a town he left in 1974 to begin his studies at St. John Vianney Seminary, the University of St. Thomas, and the St. Paul Seminary. He was ordained a priest in 1982 and has served in a variety of parishes.
Fr. Evans was called to HNOJ June 2017. Fr. Evans grew up in Corcoran, MN. After earning a bachelor's degree in Theology from Marquette University in Milwaukee. Fr. Evans spent three years discerning with the Jesuit religious order. He then volunteered with Catholic Youth Expeditions in the diocese of Green Bay, and decided to start fresh with a path of formation for the diocesan priesthood, beginning with two years at Mundelein Seminary north of Chicago, and concluding with four years at the St. Paul Seminary. Fr. Evans was doubly-blessed last month to be ordained a priest at the Cathedral by Archbishop Hebda and then presided at his sister's wedding at St. Anne's the next week. Fr. Evans is excited to begin his priestly life at HNOJ.
Deacon Dennis Hanson has been a member of Holy Name of Jesus since the late 1990s and served as a deacon at HNOJ since 2000. Dennis became a full-time deacon in 2012 when he retired from the business world. His ministries include Deaconate Liturgical Ministry, Baptism Program, Marriage Ministry, and Outreach Ministry. He started the Men’s Bible Study at HNOJ and the Career Transition Group. Deacon Dennis is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Serra Club and the Men's Club.
Director of Faith Formation
Chris Kostelc grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in Theology and a focus in Pastoral Ministry. In 2009, Chris completed a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry at the SJU School of Theology. Chris also served in youth ministry at HNOJ for over a decade before his current role in adult faith formation.
Coordinator of Senior High Youth Ministry
Kory is entering his 8th year serving the teens and families of Holy Name of Jesus. He began his theological studies at St. John’s University and is currently working on his Masters through the Augustine Institute in Denver, CO. Kory and his wife, Alicia, grew up a mile a part in Buffalo, MN and are now proud parents of 3 (19, 4, and 2). He likes to spend time with his family, read books, play board games, and drive school buses in his free time.
Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry
Ashley Cermak graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a degree in Pastoral and Youth Ministry. After her sophomore year of college, she took a year off to serve with NET Ministries, which increased her passion for leading teens to Christ and His Church. Before coming to HNOJ, Ashley taught Religion at a Catholic school in Winona for grades 7, 8, and 12. She loves working with middle schoolers and is excited to be a part of HNOJ’s mission to create disciples of Jesus Christ!
Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator
Theresa Reichert has been a part of this parish family her entire life. Her experiences with HNOJ’s faith formation shaped her career path. Theresa graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a double major in Theology and Psychology. While in college, she also studied abroad in South Africa and volunteered at Mission Vale. Theresa is honored to work at Holy Name of Jesus and thrilled to give back to the place that put so much meaningful time and prayers into her.
Director of Liturgy
Nate Reinhardt works as director of liturgy at HNOJ, as well as the director of the HNOJ Life Teen band. He is responsible for liturgical ministries, events such as Reconciliation services and children's liturgies, including school liturgies.
Director of Music
Judy Hodgson joined our staff in 2014 as the Director of Music. Judy received a Master’s degree in Music at the University of Notre Dame. Although she grew up in Wisconsin, she’s spent the last 30 years of her life living and working in Bloomington. Judy served as the Director of Liturgy and Music and K-8 music specialist at Nativity of Mary and, most recently, the Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Edward’s. Judy directs the Praise Choir, accompanies the Children’s Choirs, Adult Choir and Handbell Choir. She assists families planning funeral liturgies and couples celebrating matrimony here at Holy Name.
Mary Kay Knapp

Mary Kay Knapp joined our staff in 2016 as the Director of the Adult Choir. She majored in Music/Music Education at Clarke College in Dubuque, IA, and did graduate work in Choral Conducting at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Mary Kay and the Adult Choir welcome high school through adult singers to join us to sing for Mass three weekends a month. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. In addition, singers are invited to join us for special liturgies and events throughout the year.
Director of Handbell Choirs
JoBeth Ranfranz received her Bachelor of Music from the College of Saint Benedict with further study towards an MFA at San Jose State University and the University of St. Thomas. She has been leading our Handbell Ministry since it began in 1999. The Holy Name Handbell Choir meets for rehearsals on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Bell Room from September to May. They play at Liturgies approximately once a month and on special occasions. They also attend outside festivals and events. Ability to read music is highly encouraged.

Director of Summer Choir/Parish Children's Choir
Mandy Inhofer directs the Summer Choir and Parish Children's Choir at Holy Name of Jesus. She spent much of her childhood at HNOJ, receiving the sacraments and attending elementary school here. She then went on to attend Luther College, where she earned degrees in music and English, and the University of Minnesota, earning her masters degree in Vocal Performance.
Minister of Extraordinary Needs
Frank Renshaw works closely with those who have special needs and their families as well as others in need of support in our parish, provides for group prayer opportunities for staff and parishioners, coordinates the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and acts as staff liaison with the Serra Club. Prior to this position, he served as Network Administrator at HNOJ.
Carol Bishop has joined HNOJ as the new parish administrator. Carol spent the first twenty years of her career working in social service administration, managing programs for the elderly. She shifted gears to follow a call to work in the Church and has previously served as administrator at St. Olaf in downtown Minneapolis and at St. John the Baptist in Excelsior. As an alumna of the College of St. Benedict, Carol embraces her Benedictine spirituality and is delighted to join the HNOJ community.
Barb Seliski has worked at HNOJ since 1991. She currently works with accounts receivables, sacrament records, parishioner data entry, as well as liturgy program and publication layout. Previous duties at HNOJ have been payroll, accounts payable, office manager, facilities scheduling and parishioner data entry. Barb is married and has three adult children.
Network Administrator & Communications
Michelle Hudlow started as our part-time network administrator in July 2013. In the fall of 2014, she became full-time with the added role of communication. Previously, she worked for 6 years as a part-time adjunct instructor and as the systems administrator at a printing company for 20 years.

Michele Schatz is the Administrative Support Specialist at Holy Name of Jesus. Her responsibilities include greeting visitors, fielding incoming calls, database management and publication layout. Michele assists in funeral setup for visitations, and also provides hospitality and support for families during their visitation and celebration of the funeral. Prior to being an at-home mom for 12 years, she was an administrative assistant and receptionist for various companies. She looks forward to helping guests and parishioners have the best possible experience at Holy Name of Jesus.
Kelly Hayes graduated from the College of St. Benedict in 2013 with a degree in Pastoral Ministry. She has been serving as Coordinator of Youth Ministry for the past four years at St. Vincent de Paul. She is excited to be a part of the HNOJ Community. In her spare time she enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time at the lake.

Debby returned to the parish print room December 2015; she previously held the position from 2000 thru 2005. Debby and her husband, Joe, have been parishioners at Holy Name of Jesus since 1988. They served in coffee ministry for many years. Joe and her son, Matt, are ushers, and Debby helps greet parishioners and pick up the bulletins after Mass. Debby likes to make handmade cards and spend time with her one year old and four year old granddaughters.

Bill Kessler is our Building and Grounds Manager, overseeing building and grounds as well as maintenance at Holy Name of Jesus. He was in this role at HNOJ from 1994-2001 and returned to this role in April 2013.
Building and Grounds Lead
Matt Floeder is the Building and Grounds Lead at HNOJ during the week. He is a long time member and usher at HNOJ. Matt went to college for graphic design and is still perusing that field. Matt also works at Plymouth Playhouse with both technical and service operations.

Bob Weinzierl works part-time maintenance at HNOJ during the week. He is a long time member, as he grew up just a few blocks down the road. Bob currently has a daughter at HNOJ school, and his 2 other children went to HNOJ school as well. Bob is also a realtor, specializing in this area. Bob is a very experienced winemaker, taking a few gold ribbons at the state fair, and an old-school outdoorsman, when time permits.
Building and Grounds
Mike Zylla works part-time at HNOJ in the maintenance department on the weekends. You will Mike has been a member of HNOJ since he was two feet tall and has worked part-time in the Maintenance Department since high school. He joined our staff full-time in early summer of 2014 and stepped back to part-time in 2017 to focus on his engineering degree. When time permits, Mike enjoys hunting and fishing.
Steve Ricker is a long time member of Holy Name and involved in many ministries. Steve is active in prison ministry with Charis of MN . Retired from Nabisco as plant manager, Steve enjoys being a household engineer and volunteering. In August 2014 he answered a call to become HNOJ’s new sexton. Steve is enjoying this job as he loves to learn, being a servant and solving problems.
Jennifer Gilliland works as nursery coordinator at HNOJ, where she has been on our nursery staff since 2007. She works with volunteers who assist in the nursery during Sunday morning Masses, as well as during Adult Faith Formation events and many other occasions at our parish.

Jan Stumpf is our parish secretary during Sunday liturgies. Jan began working at Holy Name in the nursery in 1997 and since then has also worked with Sunday School and the School Age Program. She was married at Holy Name of Jesus and has two adult children and a granddaughter.

Martha Laurent is the principal of Holy Name of Jesus School. Martha has enjoyed an active and diverse career in Catholic education, working at St. Hubert School in Chanhassen for 13 years--first as a teacher, then as a dean and finally as principal. She additionally served as principal at St. Pascal Baylon in St. Paul. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota, plus a master’s degree in educational leadership and an educational specialist degree from St. Thomas University. She feels blessed to be a part of the HNOJ School family.
HNOJ School Office Manager
Carla Durand serves as office manager for Holy Name of Jesus School, where she has worked for six years. Her responsibilities include handling all incoming phone calls and emails regarding our school. She works directly with HNOJ School’s principal and assists the teachers and parents with any questions. She enjoys greeting the kids every morning and making sure that they have a safe and happy day.
