Fr. Steve Ulrick
Fr. Steve Ulrick has been pastor of Holy Name of Jesus since July 2011. He grew up in Mound, Minnesota, a town he left in 1974 to begin his studies at St. John Vianney Seminary, the University of St. Thomas, and the St. Paul Seminary. He was ordained a priest in 1982 and has served in a variety of parishes.
Fr. Tim Wratkowski
Fr. Wratkowski (Rat-Cow-Ski) comes to us from the Church of Saint Joseph in West Saint Paul, MN. Originally from Saint Anthony, MN, Fr. Wratkowski went to St. Charles Borromeo parish and school and then Totino-Grace High School. He was ordained in 2017 after formation at Saint John Vianney College Seminary and then the Pontifical North American College in Rome.
Rev. Mr. Dennis Hanson
Deacon Dennis Hanson has been a member of Holy Name of Jesus since the late 1990s and served as a deacon at HNOJ since 2000. Dennis became a full-time deacon in 2012 when he retired from the business world. His ministries include Deaconate Liturgical Ministry, Baptism Program, Marriage Ministry, and Outreach Ministry. He started the Men’s Bible Study at HNOJ and the Career Transition Group. Deacon Dennis is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Serra Club and the Men's Club.
Director of Mission and Faith Formation
Chris Kostelc grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in Theology and a focus in Pastoral Ministry. In 2009, Chris completed a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry at the SJU School of Theology. Chris also served in youth ministry at HNOJ for over a decade before his current role in adult faith formation.
Coordinator of Senior High Youth Ministry
Eve Anders excitedly joins us at HNOJ as the Senior High Youth Minister after two years of missionary work with NET ministries. She graduated from Ave Maria University in 2018 where she majored in Catholic Studies and minored in Economics. Following college, she worked at a crisis pregnancy center/woman’s health care facility in New Orleans, LA. This Louisiana native loves the south but is excited to acclimate to Minnesota!
Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry
Elliut is a graduated from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in 2017 with a degree in Pastoral and Youth Ministry. Since then he has been working in youth ministry in the Archdiocese and is excited to be a part of Holy Name of Jesus. He and his wife, Emily, are expecting their firstborn at the end of August. In his free time, Elliut enjoys playing music, watching superhero movies and hosting dinners for friends. Elliut joined the staff of HNOJ in April 2019.
Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator
Annie LaPlante is excited to take on the role of Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator. She has recently graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. In her free time, she likes to read a good book, drink coffee and spend time outside. She is looking forward to being a part of the community at HNOJ and helping in any way she can!
Coordinator of Mission
Tim grew up in the Twin Cities area and earned his degrees in Philosophy and Catholic Studies through the University of St. Thomas while in formation at St. John Vianney College Seminary and graduated in 2020. While discerning God’s will for his life at St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity, he made the decision in peace to leave seminary formation in May 2021 to pursue the lay/married life. This is his second position in church ministry and comes from an experience where he coordinated young adult ministry and mission training at a parish in Colorado.
He is excited to work for Holy Name of Jesus and serve the people of this parish! In his free time he loves to play sports/exercise, read, adventure the Twin Cities with friends and spend time with family.
Originally from Chicago, Linda has lived all over the country settling in Minnesota in 1996. She and her husband, Bill, have three grown children and three grandchildren.
Although a born and raised Catholic, she has continued to learn more about her faith, attending the Augustine Institute to obtain her Master’s in Theology. (And she still thinks there is much more for her to know.)
Linda walks with those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and assists with funeral planning.

Dr. Richard Owen
Director of Music
Richard Owen begins his work as Director of Music at Holy Name of Jesus in July 2022. Prior to his appointment at HNOJ, Richard served twelve years as Principal Organist at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN.
As a native of Arkansas, Richard grew up in the musical traditions of the Baptist church. He has led worship in almost every “denomination.” (He is Catholic now!) Richard cherishes his time serving in two Roman Catholic parishes: Holy Trinity in Dallas, TX and at Immaculate Conception in North Little Rock, AR. It was in the Diocese of Arkansas where Richard was able to assist in preparing large diocesan-wide liturgies with a choir of 300+ and orchestra as well as to establish a central deanery Children’s Choir.
He earned the Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in organ performance from the Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis, a Master’s degree in piano from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the College of Music at the University of North Texas.
Director of Handbell Choirs
JoBeth Ranfranz received her Bachelor of Music from the College of Saint Benedict with further study towards an MFA at San Jose State University and the University of St. Thomas. She has been leading our Handbell Ministry since it began in 1999. The Holy Name Handbell Choir meets for rehearsals on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Bell Room from September to May. They play at Liturgies approximately once a month and on special occasions. They also attend outside festivals and events. Ability to read music is highly encouraged.

Kailey is the Parish Children’s Choir Director and Print Coordinator here at Holy Name of Jesus. She grew up in Shakopee, Minnesota and recently graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance. Prior to working in the church, Kailey has worked with many community choirs including the Angelica Cantanti Youth Choirs. She also spent her time in college working with the choirs at The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary in Duluth. In her free time, Kailey likes to go camping, read and find the best thrift shop. Kailey is thrilled to begin her career here at HNOJ.
Jill Olson has a B.S. degree in Marketing and an MBA in Venture Management. Later, Jill chose to get a master’s degree in Catholic Studies. Jill came to Holy Name of Jesus from the Archdiocese where she worked in Parish and Clergy Services conducting pastoral visits throughout the western part of the Archdiocese. Prior to working in the church, she spent twenty years in data analytics and data science, owned her own consulting business and, most importantly, stayed home with her two children. One of the highlights of her educational experiences was time spent in Poland studying at John Paul II University in Lublin, Poland, where John Paul II taught for many years. In her spare time, she loves exploring theology, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Jennifer Wendt is excited to join HNOJ as Office Coordinator. Jennifer lives in Shakopee, MN with her husband Zach, goldendoodle Coco, 21-year-old son Thomas and high school senior Edward. Her sons Nicholas and Oscar are attending graduate schools out of state, and her daughter Elizabeth lives and works in Maple Grove with her husband Spencer. Jennifer has degrees in psychology and religion from Augsburg University in Minneapolis and a BA in English writing from Winona State. Her family are members of Sts. Joachim and Anne in Shakopee where Jennifer has been involved as a sacristan, a parish council member, a catechist in faith formation and through ministry with homebound parishioners. She looks forward to meeting everyone at HNOJ and sharing in the faith life of this community. Jennifer will be in the office Monday to Friday, so the next time you are in the building, stop by the front desk, say hi and introduce yourself!
Director of Information Technology
Michelle Hudlow has worked at HNOJ since July of 2013. Michelle has a degree in Administrative Management and Network Management/Analysis. She worked for 20 years at a local printing company; starting in accounting and leaving as a systems administrator. Before coming to Holy Name of Jesus she worked for six years as a part-time adjunct instructor teaching computer networking and office programs. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs and glamping.
Ministry Administrative Associate and Safe Environment Coordinator
Gabby Lehner is the Ministry Administrative Associate and Safe Environment Coordinator here at Holy Name of Jesus. She was born and raised in Champlin, MN, and grew up at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where she is still a parishioner. Gabby earned a degree in Human Services from Saint Mary’s University of MN, Winona. Gabby recently married her best friend, Ben. Together, they enjoy spending time outside with their dog, Vinny and spending time with family! Gabby loves meeting new people, so please stop by to say hi!
Clergy and Liturgy Assistant
Grace grew up attending Holy Name of Jesus Church and School and is now very excited to be the Clergy and Liturgy Assistant! Some of her passions include spending time with her teddy bear dog, reading, sewing, singing and baking. She is very excited to serve the church and school with her new role!
Sarah Reid is excited to take on the role of communications coordinator at HNOJ! She is originally from South Dakota where she earned a degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Northern State University. She and her family moved to Plymouth in 2016. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, cooking, drinking coffee and most importantly, spending time with her husband and their eight-year-old daughter.

Daniel Kudwa is excited to take on the role of Accountant and HR specialist at HNOJ! He was born in Flint, MI, and moved to the twin cities to study at St. John Vianney Seminary as a seminarian for the Diocese of Lansing. After discerning out of seminary, Daniel switched gears from Philosophy and Catholic Studies to classes in business and accounting until he finally graduated and finished at the University of St. Thomas in 2021. Daniel is no stranger to parish life, having worked at several parishes back in Michigan during his time in seminary, but he is excited to join the HNOJ team and gain experience in his accounting role. Outside of work you can find Daniel keeping active with sports like swimming or racquetball, or doing weekend trips to explore new destinations utilizing flight benefits from Delta.

Bill Kessler is our Building and Grounds Manager, overseeing building and grounds as well as maintenance at Holy Name of Jesus. He was in this role at HNOJ from 1994-2001 and returned to this role in April 2013.

Cemetery Sexton and Maintenance
Bob Weinzierl works part-time maintenance at HNOJ during the week. He is a long-time member, as he grew up just a few blocks down the road. Bob currently has a daughter at HNOJ school, and his two other children went to HNOJ school as well. Bob is also a realtor, specializing in this area. Bob is a very experienced winemaker, taking a few gold ribbons at the state fair, and an old-school outdoorsman, when time permits.
Jennifer Gilliland works as nursery coordinator at HNOJ, where she has been on our nursery staff since 2007. She works with volunteers who assist in the nursery during Sunday morning Masses, as well as during Adult Faith Formation events and many other occasions at our parish.

Jan Stumpf is our parish secretary during Sunday liturgies. Jan began working at Holy Name in the nursery in 1997 and since then has also worked with Sunday School and the School Age Program. She was married at Holy Name of Jesus and has two adult children and a granddaughter.

Principal of HNOJ School
Martha Laurent is the principal of Holy Name of Jesus School. Martha has enjoyed an active and diverse career in Catholic education, working at St. Hubert School in Chanhassen for 13 years--first as a teacher, then as a dean and finally as principal. She additionally served as principal at St. Pascal Baylon in St. Paul. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota, plus a master’s degree in educational leadership and an educational specialist degree from St. Thomas University. She feels blessed to be a part of the HNOJ School family.
HNOJ School Office Manager
Carla Durand serves as office manager for Holy Name of Jesus School, where she has worked for 13 years. Her responsibilities include handling all incoming phone calls and emails regarding our school. She works directly with HNOJ School’s principal and assists the teachers and parents with any questions. She enjoys greeting the kids every morning and making sure that they have a safe and happy day.
