Elementary Faith Formation for 1st through 5th grade (2023-2024)

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community continues the mission of Jesus through the religious education of children and youth. With the Holy Spirit, we are all disciples of Christ participating in the same lifelong journey to the creator. Assisting parents in their primary role as faith educators, we create an environment in which all ages can grow in understanding and love of God through prayer, service and liturgy.

Please email Chris Kostelc for the registration.

Wednesday Night Faith Formation FAQ

We use a new curriculum offered by Our Sunday Visitor known as Alive in Christ. Click here to learn more about this curriculum. First through Fifth graders will use this curriculum. Each Faith Formation student will be given a book to use throughout the year. Our Catechists (Teachers) are dedicated volunteers who will give your children faithful presentation of the Church's teaching. We will help stimulate your child's religious imagination so they can learn to think more critically and become better prepared to proclaim and live their faith at home, at school and at play.

As a church, it’s hard to compete with sports/activities scheduling conflicts. We understand that our students might not be able to make every single session, but we also hope that families will allow their sons and daughters to miss a practice or game from time-to-time.
We also hope that Christian parents, coaches and students can be advocates for keeping Wednesday nights free for students who desire to be active in their Faith Community.

We ask that there be no swapping of class times during the year if there are conflicts.
With students assigned to classrooms and class times, swapping class times for an evening makes it difficult for teachers with a certain number of students already assigned to their rooms, especially if multiple students swap at once.

If you are unable to make your scheduled class time, we ask that you work on the chapter at home together for that week. Completion of the review homework can be shown when you are able to return to class the following week.
